SuperSoC: Laying the Groundwork for Scalable Quantum Networks

The Superconducting Detector System on Chip for Scalable and Miniaturised Entanglement Generation (SuperSoC) project tackles a key challenge in the development of future quantum networks: achieving efficient, reliable and scalable generation and detection of quantum signals.

In this collaboration, Single Quantum, MicroAlign, Aegiq, and the Fraunhofer UK Research Ltd Centre for Applied Photonics are working together to create a compact, high‑performance photonic chip designed to produce and detect quantum signals with significantly reduced losses.

By enabling low‑loss communication between quantum systems over long distances, SuperSoC could pave the way for advanced, distributed quantum computing architectures and next‑generation quantum communication technologies.
